Going to China
I’m excitedly looking forward to my first international art residency this summer. As a part of AIR Projects Beijing I’ll be travelling to China and dwelling in North East of Beijing between the Caochangdi and 798 Art District neighborhoods. Over the course of roughly a month from July 6th to August 3rd 2011, I along with a group of other artists will be immersing ourselves in Chinese culture, one rich in the arts, both traditional and modern. We’ll be making art, visiting artist studios, institutions and galleries, and participating in critiques and lectures.
This will be my first trip outside of the United States since entering in the late eighties. I’m expectant of rich/challenging development in professional and personal discovery through this global exposure. I also plan on eating a lot of authentic Chinese food. I’ll be posting regular updates via my blog throughout my stay.
If you’re interested in coming applications are still being accepted.
